COACH WENDY

Wendy’s passion for baton twirling ignited at just six years old with Georgia’s Youth on Parade, leading her to claim her first State Championship by the age of ten. Throughout her youth, she accumulated numerous state and regional titles, and her dazzling performances graced major parades and sporting events across Atlanta, Tennessee, and Florida. Wendy’s talents shone brightly as she featured in the Orange Bowl Parade and performed complex routines with Morris Brown College, including appearances at the Rose Bowl Parade.

During her tenure at South Carolina State University, Wendy excelled as the feature twirler for the Marching “101” Band, supported by a joint Band and Academic Scholarship. Her halftime shows were a spectacle of skill, featuring three batons, fire, and sword twirling, captivating audiences at significant collegiate events. After completing her Master’s degree, Wendy founded the “Twirl Girls” youth camp at her alma mater, mentoring young twirlers and offering scholarships.

Dr. Wendy’s commitment to her community and the arts was recognized when she was honored as the Women’s History Month Community Servant by the State of Georgia in 2014. She continues to influence a new generation of twirlers, blending her love for the sport with her academic achievements and her dedication to service.
